This is an older motel with an authentic retro feel but was clean, comfortable and convenient. Note that some online sites say this place is permanently closed but it’s not; it has a new name, All Ways Inn. (The saloon next door is not currently open.) My family came for a fall hiking trip to see the trees in the state park and we all agreed this was lovely. There are other ski towns nearby that are very populated and commercialized; this Inn and town are not, which was perfect for a mental reset. No tv in the room and we were not disappointed. Everything was very clean and comfortable and felt like family with doors open and keys inside when we arrived. There is no “office,” the host saw us arrive and walked up to guide us and even gave us local suggestions where to eat and sightsee. The rooms have front doors and back for beautiful porch sitting, and the river across the street is a must see! Beautiful with trails and benches to watch and listen to the water flow. We are at two locally owned restaurants (Dutch Treat and Hungry Bear Cafe) and they were both excellent. They gave us connected rooms which was convenient. I would have liked a mini fridge in the room but that wasn’t a deal breaker. If we ever return to Franconia, we will stay here.
