No Internet in the Room — and They Don’t Care
The location is good, and the room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff were kind, especially Minna — the only truly positive part of our stay. She’s a real asset to the hotel: always polite, helpful, and professional.
Unfortunately, the hotel’s internet doesn’t work. Many reviews show it’s been a recurring issue for over three months. They sent a technician to our room who didn’t speak English, was rude, said something in Turkish, and slammed the door. Minna tried her best to help, but it was beyond her control.
The manager was dismissive, claiming the issue was “in the street,” which doesn’t match previous reviews. Worse, they told us to use the internet only in the lobby — unacceptable for any decent hotel. We had to buy an expensive eSIM. When we requested compensation, the manager refused.
Also, before check-in, I asked via Hotels.com about early check-in. Upon arrival, I declined it due to the high cost. We didn’t use the room, just dropped our bags. Minna kindly gave us the key anyway.
At checkout, the receptionist claimed I owed an extra fee for early check-in just because I had asked about it. It was clearly an attempted scam. I had to show my original message to prove I never agreed to anything.
We left frustrated and disappointed. If you need internet or fair service, I strongly advise against staying at Roys Hotel. Sadly, we felt scammed and disrespected — except for Minna, who truly deserves better leadership.
