I was informed only few hours before check-in that the room I originally paid for was unavailable and was asked to cancel my reservation. I was then offered another room through a different agent, but unfortunately, the rate was higher than what I had initially paid. Given the urgency of needing a place to stay for my family, I had no choice but to proceed with the new booking. Payment was made via GCash, but I did not receive an official receipt.
This situation caused inconvenience, but I truly appreciate that Expedia stepped in and shouldered the additional charge incurred. While I am grateful for their support, I hope the hotel management can improve communication and ensure proper documentation for future guests.
