I have stayed at the Cotswold many times, the staff are always excellent and I like that there is a 24 hour reception. The building is looking a bit tired, but I noticed decoraters around. Its a basic cheap hotel with everything you need in the room.Although when I stayed no heating the staff apologized and said they were having problems with boiler.I remember staying one Christmas and I was upgraded to a ground floor twin room as I had a lot of luggage and the manager said to his receptionist to make sure my heating was on which it was .I thought that was very kind.

Can't grumble for 32 quid, nothing snazzy rooms are a little worn let's say, but clean comfy bed decent shower and nice staff. Saved me 30 odd quid VS Travelodge no brainer!!

Parking on the front costs £10 there is an option to park on the road but that was full. Staff were polite and friendly. Rooms were in very poor condition.
Paint missing on the walls
Marks all up the walls. Dirty carpet (not very clear in photo) more paint chipped of the walls.
Blinds didn’t cover the whole window but that was ok the curtain kept out the light.

Terrible smell from the moment you walk into the door. Absolutely disgusting room. Full of people that have hit hard times. They have a no refund policy because they know that the moment you see it you will ask for 1. I’d give it zero stars or minus but there is no option for that

The room was clean. The staff were very welcoming. The parking was available at £10 per night. Lidl shopping is directly across the road. The rooms require minor maintenance of the bedside lamps and shower cubicle The location on Mansfield Road is ideal for travel to Nottm or Sherwood on public transport.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful, sadly this is the only positive thing I can say about the Cotswold Hotel. The room was one of the smallest I've ever stayed in, the door only just clearing the bottom of the bed. The walls were super thin so unfortunately I could hear everything going on in the room next door, including very loud talking and shouting until 2am and two rounds of 'togetherness' in the morning. There were multiple old stains on the wall and wall mounted TV had wires coming out of everywhere. The delightful view from the window looked over the rear of the property which included multiple matresses, piles of rubble and a general dumping site. Parking convenient just outside the front, I luckily got the last space.

Horrible hotel, I had to book another hotel on the same day because it was that bad. It looked like a brothel. No word of a lie. How this place is still up it’s absolutely insane

On arrival staff on duty were nice. But on departure today the staff was awful, no customer service skills at all. The Room was clean however the bed was a shambles. Pressed it down and it fell right through, nothing holding it together. The mattress was all spring no padding so hard and uncomfortable, Had to complain to staff to make it right. Not what you would expect.

The room was poorly maintained, with a thread bare carpet, and broken floor tiles in the bathroom and felt and smelt damp and dirty. The staff were pleasant.

Booked this room for my parents and they had a terrible experience. The bed was broken and they could not sleep at all and ended up having to make the 3 hour drive back earlier than anticipated. Both my parents are elderly with chronic back pain and expected to have somewhere nice enough to rest before travelling back. They mentioned this to the receptionist at the desk and all she could say was “okay then have a nice day” I would not recommend this establishment.

The staff were very kind & friendly, the room was clean and it was a short walk from the city centre which was perfect for our needs.
