Es un lugar limpio, si andas buscando tranquilidad este es el lugar adecuado para ti, no tienen cocina, pero si tienen un menu y te traen la comida de otro local. Pero si eres de los que solo llegaran a dormir y disfrutar de la laguna y las instalaciones es tu lugar indicado, hay muchas opciones fuera del hotel para comer o hacer otras actividades y muchas ciudades turisticas a menos de 30 minutos manejando.

Really nice and quiet place not far from Paradiso (5 minute walk). The hotel has kayaks and SUP available. The ”homeless” man that someone rudely commented is a very friendly man who looked after us really well. He arranged food to be delivered to our room and our laundry to be done. Extremely service minded man! Great hotel at a beautiful place and good value for money

I booked because it looked beautiful in the photos, but when we arrived, we were greeted by a disheveled man in a torn shirt who looked like a homeless person; he turned out to be the receptionist. He gave us the key, and it turned out the bathroom was shared with other rooms—something not mentioned when I booked. We decided to leave and look for a place in better condition. Honestly, I do not recommend it at all. I lost my money. Very bad place. I wish can I have my money back.

This hotel is changing management it seems (Feb 2026) so things like restaurant, beach equipment etc aren’t ready. But the setup is very pretty! There are some rooms down the hill which are really nice with patios. We were in the main building which was totally fine. Has AC, clean, bathroom works nicely. And there’s a communal patio with nice chairs and hammocks, plus a couple other little patios with chairs down the hill. There’s at least 3 Day Pass options within a quick walk too. A totally fine (if not thrilling) place to spend a night in Laguna de Apoyo.

This property is one of the most beautiful places we visited in Nicaragua. The entire complex is very well maintained, the architecture is stunning, and everything is thoughtfully designed and arranged. You can see that a lot of care has gone into creating a peaceful and beautiful environment. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our time there. For anyone looking for nature, tranquility, and a special place to stay, this property is truly exceptional. However, there is one downside: the communication with the staff member on site was unfortunately very difficult. He does not speak English, and his Spanish is also very hard to understand, even for people who speak Spanish. Even when we used a translator to write messages in Spanish, he often did not seem to understand what we were asking. Because of this, it was sometimes unclear what we were allowed to use and what we were not. This is definitely something that should be improved, as it does not match the otherwise excellent quality of the property. Aside from that, the place is absolutely beautiful and highly recommended.

Cons: Need improvement and TLC by owner as well investment in amenities supplies availability, cleaning and maintenance as some areas has pest control in need. 1. Two of the Bedrooms when we arrived had no working door locks. 2. All of the rooms had spiders & webs, the also had lot's of flying ants 🐜. 3. All of the rooms had bugs like mosquitos, 4. The one washroom was public access by everyone, shared for all Villas. 5. The pool was been used by family members and was left dirty after usage. 6. Pool towels weren't available for everyone and was the same towels for regular bathing. 7. The care taker was in charged for most things. No really support from Owner. 8. No Breakfast available as it's source from a third-party. 9. No access to portable devices for entertainment - music. 10. Care taker hovers too much you have to feed him as No food is provided to him. 11. BBQ is old style Charcoal and you need to provide your own supplies to use it. 12. Kitchen not enough proper equipment and often used by owners and relatives only. 13. Dishes, plates, cups, utensils limited and often dirty and not enough or very old. 14. Care taker don't speaks English but thankfully my husband did. 15. Water for shower 🚿 very weak. 16. Water for sink very weak. 17. Access to the Beach ⛱️ need improvement. 18. No proper even steps all over including to access to the beach. 19. No Beach equipment. 20. Poor management. Pros: View from the main upper deck was nice & large rooms with AC.

This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper. The problem starts with the entrance. When we arrived on December 14 around noon, the gate was closed, while there is no name sign nor anything else that indicates the existence of a hotel. It looks like private property from the outside. I tried to cancel the reservation, but that was not possible on the day of arrival. We went to look for an alternative place. The next day, after an unsatisfactory phone call with the owner who maintains the stand that the 'hotel' is functioning normally I decided to investigate the place a little further. US$ 65 was booked off my credit card because of a No-Show. I talked to the housekeeper who allowed me in and showed me around. I have made nice photoshoot of the place so everybody can judge for himself. Please note the first picture that shows the entrance. If you zoom in on the wall left of the blue gate you can still more or less decipher the painted over sign "hotel Selvazul". The last picture shows you a table full of mice excrements if you zoom in a little.
