We were extremely disappointed with our stay at Glasson Lakehouse. From the moment we arrived, there were several issues that fell far below the standard we expected from a hotel of this reputation.
The robes provided in the room were in very poor condition, with holes, long pulled threads, and a rough texture that felt as though they had been repeatedly washed with harsh bleach. They were well past the point of needing replacement. The snacks left in the room were also out of date, which was unacceptable.
In the bathroom, the weighing scales did not work and, upon inspection, the batteries inside were corroded and leaking. The furniture in the room needs to be painted and the window had a massive draft.
We were required to book a breakfast timeslot during check-in, which felt restrictive and took away from the relaxed atmosphere you would expect when staying away for a break.
One of the main attractions for us was the outdoor pool, but it was not heated as expected. The water was so cold that we couldn't stay in for more than a few minutes.
Thankfully, after reading reviews of the hotel's restaurant, we decided to dine in town instead.
Overall, the experience felt more focused on upselling than providing value, with many extras carrying significant additional costs. Considering the price of the stay, we expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, we would not return and would recommend looking at other hotels in the area that offer better value.
