The property is a bit dated but great value. The breakfast is probably the best I’ve ever had in any hotel anywhere in the world (seriously). Vegan and vegetarian options unlike anywhere in Britain. There’s plenty for the omnivores, too. Great location, albeit a bit windy to find it up the hills. Friendly staff and wonderful service. Would absolutely stay again.

Fantastic historic building with wonderful views across the Menai Strait. Room was clean and comfortable. Good restaurant and bar, with friendly staff. Buffet breakfast was generous and tasty. Would definitely go back.

The building has so much character yet the room and restaurant were so lacking. Room felt tired as did much of the interior of the building, bed was not overly comfortable, the carpet needed replacing and a whole room needed a good refresh. The dining room/restaurant was ok just very corporate, literally no character at all which is a shame because the view from the room was lovely. We did eat in the restaurant one evening and food was nice, just such a dreary area to eat in. The bar area is nice. If you dont like stairs its not the place for you. We had room in the top of the building, 3rd floor. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Would i stay again, probably not.

The staff were well trained and really helpful. The room was clean upon arrival and each day was spruced up. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with good quality food. Poor self serve toasters, though. They took ages to do the job. The restaurant staff were very attentive and welcoming. The building is laid out in an interesting configuration. By its nature it was a confusing place to navigate. Sometimes the direction of travel felt contrary to where I needed to be. The only other negative thing worth mentioning was that the TV was not, and could not be connected to the internet. I missed YouTube as an alternative to terrestrial channels. My bad! Overall, this is a place I would readily return to.
