Overall, I don’t know if I’d spend the money to stay here again. It was very expensive for Super 8-quality.
The good: Smooth check-in, friendly staff, very clean room, good views of river with access to walking path. Lots of free covered parking with option for valet. Able to stay parked in garage and walk to PNC park for a game. Attached to casino. Had other breakfast plans, but their breakfast looked generic. Good coffee.
The bad: we spent 1 night in a hospitality suite with 4 people for a birthday weekend. Not only was the pull out couch uncomfortable (anticipated), the king bed was very old and just as bad. Especially for the price paid to stay in their “nicest room option” per the concierge. Room didn’t have extra linens or pillows for the pullout bed either.
Had 2 full bathrooms, but neither shower maintained hot water; it would constantly drop its temperature before becoming too hot then dropping again. Second bathroom also didn’t come with any towels.
The ugly: Be aware, there is no direct access to the hotel from the parking garage. And no signage to indicate this until you’ve parked. Luggage is not allowed into the casino, so you either have to drop your bags off at the door and leave them or valet your car, or be willing to carry all your luggage up and down potentially many flights of stairs. I’m not sure if the hotel owns the garage vs the casino, but its stairwell had what appeared to be stool in multiple areas so watch your step and belongings.
