When we arrived we paid for an upgrade that should have cost £10.00. The next day £15.00 was taken from my bank. When we spoke to the manager, she said it would be returned, this has yet to happen.
The room was stifling hot, even in November with the windows open. We asked for and were provided with a noisy fan, which helped a little.
The bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable we’ve attempted to sleep in, the assistant manager agreed that they were awful.
We were looking forward to a well earned break, without the children, and chose this hotel for its Spa and Pool facilities.
On evening one, we needed to avoid the pool due to classes taking place.
On morning two, we were asked to vacate the pool for yet more swim classes!
All of the above points were discussed with the manager at the time of checking-out.
She explained that she has no authority to return any monies etc, even the overcharge payment. Apparently, the boss won’t give that level of autonomy, even to the manager, which we found rather odd, clearly a lack of trust between owner and staff.
We would use this hotel as our regular place if we had been treated better.
Very disappointing stay, very disappointed with the staff, and very disappointed with the lack of use of the Spa facilities.
