Résidence Hèrmes is truly a good choice for on-a-budget travel to Paris. Here are some positive and negative notes:
Positive
- The RER station was incredibly close, around 6-7 minutes walking. With the navigo decouverte weekly card, it was super easy to use all the transportation to get to wherever we wanted, and it was never more than 1 hour-1 hour 15 mins to get anywhere (including Disneyland). Just note that the station nearby (Les Saules) stops service early in the night.
- The place was very clean. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were all in a perfect state, no bad smells nor stains.
- The area around was very quiet and calm. It did get pretty dark at night, like there is few lights on the streets, but you still feel safe.
Negative
- We did not receive the instructions prior to our arrival, so we had to contact the manager once we got there since we rang the bell and had no answer. Nonetheless, he was really helpful and quick to answer too, so that is something good about the property.
- There is a weird noise done by the pipes when water is turned on. So one night one of the other guests showered at like 4 am, and it woke me up and kept me up for like 40mins… I guess if you are not a light sleeper it won’t bother you, and also there are minimum chances someone would shower so early while you are there; I just had bad luck. It’s understandable for this not to be resolved easily because piping in houses is complex.
- We wish they would give daily pods for coffee.
