Sugar Beach Resort by CRH

Very enjoyable. Condo could use a love seat or recliner in the living room. Internet service and cable were not reliable. Pool and beach area were very clean and enjoyable.

Very good value, Air conditioning unit was not operating well affected comfort. Max cold was 77 to 79 degrees inside.

This is our 3rd trip to Sugar Beach, so we've had the opportunity to stay in different units there. We always get beach front, ground floor units. Most units have always had the basics, but this one (unit 116) was rather sparsely furnished. It didn't even have any salt (the others have had cooking oil, seasoning salt, and other basics). The dishwasher had what appeared to be mold in it and didn't come clean after running an empty load, so I called CRH. They had a great service guy (Ron) who came and cleaned it out and made it usable again. There were no beach chairs (other units have had beach chairs) and no beach umbrella. We ended up leaving a beach umbrella in the unit, so hopefully it will be there for the next guests. Sugar Beach Resort is not a fancy place, but it's so nice to be able to get a ground floor oceanfront condo that's affordable, so we will return again. CRH's service was good in resolving the dishwasher issue.

Overall a great place to stay of you are not going to spend much time at the condo, as they are a little outdated. Nice ocean view from almost anywhere. The condo itself has everything you need if you prefer to cook as well as plenty of beach towels which was great. I believe these are individually owned, we stayed in 303 and the bed was a bit uncomfy, but we still slept okay. The bathroom/shower is quite small, but again, we weren't in there too often. The location is just a short drive to the center of Kihei, but there isn't anywhere that is close walking distance for breakfast in the morning so that was a small downside as we like to walk in the mornings; I probably would not stay here if we did not have a car. The beach is beautiful for walking but not very swimmable if you have small children, the waves break right at the shoreline and are very strong.

Great location to drive north or south for finding the perfect beach. I wish the kitchen was set up with spices, oil, salt and pepper and coffee.
