Extremely disappointing experience – DO NOT BOOK if you travel with children during cold weather, unless you are prepared to spend the night keeping a very small, cold space warm.
We intended to book Valentine’s night, but the system assigned our booking to the following weekday. We did not notice the error and arrived the evening before Valentine’s Day, unaware of the problem.
We were checked in without proper verification, which caused an overbooking with another couple. We ate what we believed was a welcome food arrangement, only to be told it had been prepared for the other guests and were asked to leave.
Returning the following week was only offered with a £159 penalty. No reasonable solution, refund, or date adjustment was provided.
The dome was not suitable for children in winter — around 13°C inside, limited space, and very basic bedding.
We paid £362.49 and lost the full amount. Hotels.com did provide a £50 goodwill refund, but the property itself offered nothing. A stressful and disappointing first experience.
