I had the pleasure of spending nine days in this magnificent seaside property, beautifully located and refined in every detail. The décor is exquisite. The generous upgrade added a remarkable touch to our stay. What truly distinguished this experience, was the consistently impeccable service we received throughout the hotel. My heartfelt thanks go first and foremost to Martino Del Buono, whose professionalism, discretion and gracious attention set the tone for our entire stay. I would also like to acknowledge the team members for their warm and attentive service and management, as well as Susil, whose care and dedication were deeply appreciated. We greatly enjoyed the lounge at sunset, along with the variety of atmospheres offered by the bars and restaurants, all serving truly delicious dishes. Every detail was impeccable, but what truly made my holiday special was the outstanding service from the team. a great beautiful property with a big time staff problem - not sure this a widespread Oman issue - it could be but i didnt try any other hotels in Oman, so i dont really know. There is a staggering difference in staff professionalism and client awareness from the MO Oman and the MO Abu Dhabi - which i assign solely to the blatant lack of training of most of the staff - not that they didnt try to do the best they could at all times, which they did, and we have to be grateful for it, but the blunders are widespread at all levels of the hotel. Also the Oman property had clearly less space to develop than others that have been there for many years and as a result the whole place feels crammed into a nudge of available land - the residencies section getting more of space then the hotel itself (this was clearly a business decision that will come back to bite them. MO needs to look at this property with concern, provide more training and conduct a detailed investigation at how all sections of the hotel are working, My suggestion: try other larger older properties in the immediate neighborhood (they have the Intercon and the W nearby) or go for the Grand Dame of Oman - yes older but still has it... The Chedi. Dear Mandarin Oriental: your Oman property is going to lag behind if you dont fix it

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was exceptional — it’s a special hotel that perfectly combines understated luxury with genuine warmth. The rooms are stunning — beautifully designed, with the most comfortable beds and lovely products. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the pool area was gorgeous — spacious cabanas (which are free to use!) and very attentive service, with staff always quick to bring water and towels. The gym was excellent too — high-spec machines, cold towels and water on hand, everything you could want. The spa area is nice with lovely changing rooms and a steam room but it could make even better use of the space with perhaps some wellness activities like yoga in future. We had access to the Club Lounge from our second night, which was a real highlight. Afternoon tea was a lovely way to unwind from the sun, and the cocktails between 5–7 were fabulous. The service here — and throughout the hotel — was truly standout. A particularly special touch was the way the team recognised my mum’s retirement — with a beautiful card, cake, and a lovely arrangement of dates and figs. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the staff went out of their way to congratulate her on this milestone. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories — thank you to everyone at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat for such an unforgettable stay. We can’t wait to return.
