I was only here for a short stay, but I hope to be return. The location is perfect—or will be once the museum is finished and the construction of the metro line is complete. Free airport transfer was convenient. The room was very nice with a view of the Pyramids and the new (unfinished but beautiful) Museum. Complimentary bottled water and coffee and tea in the room was very welcome.
The bathroom design is a bit awkward and the shower design in particular makes for a very wet floor. The reason for the lower rating on the surrounding area is because a new Metro station is being built and the road is torn up in front and noisy construction went until midnight, but it didn't keep me up.
The rooftop restaurant is open 24/7. I only got to have breakfast and some fresh afternoon mango juice, but the menu looked great.
The real reason to stay here, however, is the hospitality. I can’t say enough about how friendly, welcoming, and accommodating everyone was. From Khalid and his staff (Mohamed for one) in the restaurant, to manager, Shami, who sat with me on the terrace to chat about the area, the hotel, the museum, whatever, everyone was excellent. The hotel had even arranged for a tour of the antiquities that I could not take when I arrived, so they reserved me dinner with a view of the light show at the Pyramids. And then arranged transportation to my next location. I can’t say enough about these wonderful people.
