Won’t be back
Upon arrival we knocked on the door to be greeted with a very abrupt ‘have you booked?’. No welcome. No friendly tone. We were shown to our room and told breakfast at 8:30 am! (What a relaxing break!)
Husband went down to breakfast the next morning just after 8:30 and I was going to follow to be greeted again with a lack of hospitality- almost told off because I wasn’t with him and it was just after 8:30! My husband ordered for me due to the fact we were slightly late. The breakfast was served. Food was nice. But again a distinct lack of making you feel welcome. No offer of another coffee. Breakfast from sitting down to leaving the dining room was 23 minutes of uncomfortable atmosphere.
Returned to our room and checked out just before 10am - it is a 10am check out.
We had parked our car in one of their bays. We went for a short walk around Keswick market. Had a rather abrupt call at 12:07 telling us we can’t leave our car there all day as it is for residents - we had been. Whilst we appreciate the spaces are needed for new guests we were only leaving it there for a couple of hours and the new guests check in time had not arrived. Upon checking my phone we realised we had had a previous call at 10:01 (1 minute after check out time) also telling us to move our car!
Would I stay again - NO
Would we recommend - NO we advise against staying!
However if you like this type of hospitality I do have some good points
- beds/ pillows are comfortable
