My family and I stayed in the Junior Suite, expecting the quality and hospitality of a four-star, family-owned hotel. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.
The Junior Suite was dirty, neglected, poorly maintained, and dated—well below the standard we expect from a four-star property. I documented the condition with photos immediately upon arrival. We reported the issues and asked to be moved, but were told there were no other Junior Suites available. Housekeeping was unavailable, so I ended up cleaning parts of the room myself just to make it acceptable for my family to stay the night.
With no feasible solution offered, we checked out the following morning and moved to another four-star hotel in Grindelwald. The difference in cleanliness, room quality, and service was immediate and significant.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend Hotel Kirchbühl to anyone looking for a true four-star hotel experience.
