Wonderful place. Our hostess was friendly & helpful. Made certain we could check in early. Gave us easy access to all the amenities. The hotel is a period masterpiece & nicely done. You will feel like you are in the early 1800's, except of course you will have climate control (A/C & heating) Loved our stay.

My wife and I had a wonderful time during our stay. The booking process was easy and the manager, Laurie, was wonderful to work with. She was responsive, kind and understanding (especially with our train being delayed and canceled on checkout day). The hotel was a gorgeous historical site, allowing guests to take self-guided tours at any chance they’d like. When we first arrived, we were shown a brief tour and led to our room, The Presidential Suite. We would highly recommend this room if you’re after that historical experience; be prepared to take a bath though, as there isn’t a shower like the other rooms, and the train is close by so you will hear it coming in and leaving (wasn’t too bad with a fan or earplugs which were both provided). The owners and operators of the White House Hotel have worked hard to maintain this 1860’s structure and are still working towards more restorations. We are definitely staying here again on our next trip! We would also recommend the Hermann Trolley for an activity and the Hermann 1837 Cellar Bar that has live music every night!

This property and experience is so unique ! The hotel is beautiful restored and such a neat experience to stay there and see all the history ! Would highly recommend! Offered free beer and wine, very pleasant personal engagement by attendant, Sable, who was also very attentive and accommodating! Already want to go back!

Unique property. Little pricey, but probably market. We booked last minute and we’re there during a busy time. Enjoyed the staff and touring the property. Only 3 rooms so get to “know” staff/owner. Had a good time.

This is such a unique property, and feels like you're going back in time. Most of the property is preserved as it was in the late 19th century, yet the rooms have plenty of electrical outlets and good air conditioning. Plus easy access to the bike trails, wineries, restaurants, and downtown shopping. We will definitely be back.

The White House is a wonderfully restored 1800s hotel. Very clean and comfortable.The manager Laurie was amazing. Our trip was a 14th wedding anniversary celebration. Laurie graciously took care of every detail for me including special flowers and a bottle of wine ready at our arrival. We were traveling by train so the hotel being one block from the station was nice. We would definitely return.

We were the only guests in the hotel. There was no room service, house keeping. Yes it had the charm of being an 18th century hotel which was nice. But not worth the $500+ that I paid for 2 nights. We were disappointed!

This was a great historical property. It was like we were transported back in time 150 years, but with modern conveniences. It was as if we were staying in an interactive museum. What a great experience! We're already telling all our friends and family about tge great time we had while staying at tge White Hotel. Thank you! Maifest Historical Stay

Wonderful historic hotel with notes to read about past events. It can really help you imagine the 1800s, since it was lovingly restored with the goal of looking just like it did. Laurie was kind, helpful and thoughtful too. Room stayed cool and we enjoyed passing trains. Easy to walk around town with dining options and you could walk to it from the Amtrak station. The only suggestion would be to have a hanger or 2 in the room and maybe some bottles of water, although the room had a glass bottle filled with water in the room fridge, a Keurig, and some other drinks complimentary downstairs. Really lovely stay and no complaints. Hermann is a neat town and we felt safe.

Overall a very interesting and historical building. Right on the Main Street and walkable to wineries and shops. The main issues are the train, which comes by and is very close and very loud. Shaking the whole building even in the dead of night. Not the hotels fault but still made for less than great sleep. The other issue was our shower did not work. I called the main number, and to their credit the sent out a plumber who said he fixed it. However after just a few minutes running it, it again broke. Not the WORST thing but still a drag especially after really sweaty and hot day of winery tours. Overall a nice place with nice staff, but not quite nice enough or well appointed for the rather expensive rate.

It’s a room in a museum. So much cool history. A great location close to everything in Hermann. The host gave us a short tour of the property and offered complimentary drinks. Be warned, the walls are a bit thin to outside noise but a fan helped mitigate it

Very nice place to stay. The biggest plus was our personal attention for our needs. The room had a view of the park and river. Extremly clean and well taken care of. The train does come right by but I personally love the sound of the train with no horn. Its just like stepping back in time as you are staying in a museum.

My husband and I stayed for one night during the week and had the entire hotel to ourselves. The hotel was built in 1868 and has lots of history to read about with displays throughout the building. Our room, the bridal suite, was so cute and cozy. It was very convenient for us because it was across from the train station, and we used the Amtrak train to travel to Hermann. If you're a light sleeper, you might not like hearing the trains passing by in the middle of the night, but the hotel was kind enough to provide earplugs and a noise machine.
