My wife and I stayed at La Coccinella for a week this September and can't say enough good things about the hotel and the family who runs it. First things first, the hotel is VERY clean and the furniture is modern and stylish (not trendy but stylish). The bathroom was small but very clean and modern with good water pressure. I'm a big guy and the shower was a tight fit but hey, this is Italy. The room has a very nice, large balcony. Overall you can just tell that everything is well cared for and maintained.
The location was in a quiet neighborhood but still in walking distance to the center of town. The beach access is a very short walk and they have their own private area with chairs and umbrellas. The beach in this area is sandy and wide with a very gradual drop off. It seemed perfect for kids. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a short walk.
Speaking of food, the breakfast here is great! Italians don't usually do a big breakfast but they had such a nice spread every morning at 7:30 with fresh fruit, fresh bread, meats, cheeses, yogurt and you can boil your own eggs if you want. Everything was restocked quickly and the area is set up in a nice way.
