We wanted to stop somewhere for a little down time between the hustle and bustle of Rome and Venice. Ferrara was on the rail line, and had a great concert going on in the central square at the same time so we went for it. A quick search, led to a number of hotel options, and San Romano stuck out due to it's location and slightly more efficient cost. It was a very quick taxi ride from the train station, and we got checked in right away. Unlike Rome, the hotel staff spoke very little English, which was a good sign, that we weren't in another tourist trap. The free breakfast was sufficient though if really hungry you'll need to go elsewhere since it was limited.
All in all, great for a quick stay, though if more than a night or two, may want to find somewhere a little more comfortable. It is a couple blocks from the center of Ferrara, right at the end of a major shopping street.
