The apartment itself was very nice — tastefully furnished, spacious enough for two people (and possibly a third on the sofa), and generally comfortable. The bed was relatively comfortable, and the big TV in the living room was a great touch. The kitchen had all the basic cutlery and utensils, and finding and accessing the apartment was straightforward, which made arrival smooth.
There were, however, a few issues. The apartment got extremely hot, and there were no fans available, which made it uncomfortable. While the large TV in the living room was great, it would have been even better to have one in the bedroom as well. Handwash was also a little difficult to find — just a small bar hidden away in the bathroom.
Parking was another challenge. The car park with a discount was about a 5–10 minute walk away, which isn’t too bad, but with bags it was quite uncomfortable and a bit of a hassle.
The biggest drawback was the noise. Because the apartment is so close to town, we were disturbed throughout the night — woken up at least 5 or 6 times by noise from people outside, clattering bottles, and what sounded like activity from nearby restaurants and bars. We tried keeping the windows closed, which made the room even hotter, but unfortunately it didn’t help with the noise at all. As a result, we weren’t able to get a restful sleep.
Overall, for the price, the apartment does offer a good level of comfort and style, and it’s a solid option if location and value are the priority. J
