Super friendly staff:) Our room was clean and comfortable. It is near a few bars which makes it loud at night, but they are so thoughtful and provide earplugs next to the bed. Parking was right behind the building. The charm was worth it rather than staying at a Hilton or Hyatt:)

This is an old hotel that has been kept up. It is clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the food complex that is nearby. There were 4 different places to eat under the hotel. We received drink tickets and breakfast tickets. It made staying close easy. The nearby lake walk to the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Convention Center was lovely, too.

Very charming and homey place to stay. They have live music in the bar below— it stops at 9 so doesn’t interrupt sleep. Breakfast of eggs, potatoes, bacon in the morning is great! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location.

This hotel has a bit of a haunted house vibe ;) but it’s clean and the location is pretty good in that you can walk to the capital, a bit further than some hotels but not as far away as the Indigo or the Moxy. You may be woken up by the train in the middle of the night :/ and the traffic is pretty loud. The free breakfast is not great but on weekends the free breakfast next door at the restaurant is really good! The bar is awesome in that it is quintessential old WI! And the drink coupons from the hotel make it even more awesome!

I'm traveling to Madison regularly for work, and this is my home away from home. Great area with lots of restaurants within walking distance, and it's right by the lakeside bike and walking path. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable and the decor is charming, making it feel more homey than a sterile modern hotel. The breakfast is basic but good and had exactly what i need, with eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and coco flan. The bar a couple doors down has live music most nights but it is over by 9 or 10pm (at least on wreknights) and it's very quiet afterwards. The heating/AC system is somewhat outdated but works well enough for me. I'll definitely be coming back on my next trip.
