Brown water! And lots closed/out of order
Highly disappointed with hotels.com and with holiday inn. We were on the road from Florida back home to Arkansas. At our lunch stop we found a holiday inn in Greenville, Ms. Got pretty good reviews, had a pool and hot breakfast, so we booked, jumped back in the car after eating and headed towards the hotel. Got there 1) pool was closed. 2) there were signs all over talking about the city’s “brown water” problem. No where in the ad for the hotel was this mentioned anywhere. I opened my email, and of course I had an email from them after booking that they have a brown water issue. That is something that should be stated before booking!!! And we arrived after being on the road all day or I would have canceled and left. But there were no other close towns. This is a city problem, I get it, but hotels.com and holiday inn should allow their guests to make informed decisions before booking/traveling. I complained to hotels.com on the chat, and they were nice enough, but only offered a 15% discount and a “thanks for the suggestion” when I told them they should make the hotels disclose this. I would have taken a different route and stayed in a different town! Also, hotel wise, many things were out of order, they were out of many things at breakfast, and just in disrepair overall. I’d suggest skipping this place! Especially given the holiday inn express price tag!
