This was my worst stay in a motel/hotel and I've stayed in some lousy places in my time.
The experience starts with a parking lot that hasn't been paved in years and is a disaster to navigate (I was convinced I'd wake up the next day with my car hit or a tire flat because of the conditions).
For the key deposit, they asked for cash instead of using a card. I fortunately had cash on me but if I didn't I was essentially done for.
Then there's the room. It was cold with an old heating system that despite being turned up, left the room cold all night. The room was dusty and notably outdated while also having poor lighting. The fridge worked and that's about where the good things end (there's no microwave in the room).
The bed was also hard, uncomfortable, and itchy. I had trouble sleeping the whole night and I went to sleep early.
Sure, you get what you pay for yet somehow, they managed to hit a new low. I had to check out a night early and cut my losses.
If they had any decency, they'd refund me for a second night. They won't but they should.
