The guy at the counter was cool, talked about hunting and hooked up a fold out bed for us. Good place to crash for the night when you get to town late. Airport shuttle was reliable.

Plan ahead and avoid troubles associated with overbooked hotels. Don't believe all the bad reviews, make your own opinion. We enjoyed the Baranof lodge and it's staff. Be patient, it's a small down and they share housekeeping and shuttle driver. We will for sure stay again at the Baranof lodge

Staff helpful, especially Felecia. No elevator, no drinking classes (not even the plastic ones), no room service……sheets never changed and we had to go downstairs to get clean towels, no telephone, back downstairs to find out how to get trash cans in room emptied, we were there for 6 nights. I only stayed for 1 night but the hotel is in a good location. In walking distance to downtown. It’s clean, has an airport shuttle throughout the day, staff is friendly. The only downside is it is a 2 level hotel with no elevator so you need to haul your own stuff up stairs so request lower floor in advance if you can’t handle that.

Great Stay in Sitka!

I stayed for 9 days, visiting my daughter who is stationed at the Coast Guard station. Room was comfortable and clean. I asked for a couple of extra pillows and a blanket and was given them right away. Everyone at the front was very helpful, nice and always cheerful. The hotel is in a great location to almost all areas of Sitka. We ordered a taxi every now and then, but walked to most locations from the hotel. Fridge and microwave in room were both used and worked perfectly.

I believe this property has new owners. They have obviously been updating the rooms and hallways. New carpet, towels, fixtures, bedding. There is still some work to be completed outside and at registration, but this older property is on the way up.

Old and outdated motel. Bathroom sink still had toothpaste from previous guest as well as shaving hairs on the sink. Bed linens were old and worn. Questionable if they were fresh. I would not recommend. One star is generous.

A Pleasant Surprise!

This was a last minute booking for a last minute trip, and I was pleasantly surprised! The room was exceptionally clean. I love that there were "real" tissues available. It was honestly about the small details. I did have a very early checkout, and the night clerk was obviously not prepared to see me, but that's ok. The location was great, everything in town was within walking distance. There was also plenty of parking for my rental vehicle. It was very quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again!

It was adequate for the price. The heating controls were outdated, and had a noisy fan that ran continuously. Which also provided a white noise, blocking out most of the adjacent traffic noise. (not much traffic, this is Sitka!)

We had to get own towels, sheets and other! No service and told we could buy breakfast down the street at the store. Did not have right type of room for 3 people and wanted to charge extra for roll away bed when we had request a room for 3 adults
