Accommodation/Room: 7/10: Half the lamps were dysfunctional; the mini refrigerator was not cooling, neither was the air conditioner. The room space was quite good and surrounding space very pleasant and almost noise free. Washroom and balcony space was also very good.

Check-in experience: 2/10. I had made a call about 4 hours prior to check in, to request for an early check in around 2:00 pm was possible, and the lady confirmed we could. However, on reaching the property, the person at the front desk said we needed to wait for 45 mins as the room was getting ready. Major miscommunication between the resort staff. Had to repeat the entire conversation I had on call before, and then almost immediately we got a room. My question is, where was the issue??
The resort check in time is 3:00 pm, and check out time 12:00 pm. For reasons I’ve never understood, why is it never 24 hours, or, at least 23? Anyway. So if a previous occupant checks out at 12:00 pm, does it take 2 hours or 3 for them to clean the room? Even if someone checks out late, there is still ample time and ample staff at the resort to perform the same. So either they shouldn’t confirm or if they do, after checking both the Marriott Bonvoy member ID and reservation number, they should make sure the room is available.
Such errors are not acceptable from a 5 star property. And it’s a beautiful property. Why tarnish that?
