This hotel is tucked away in a quiet portion of the French Concession and served me well as a jumping off point to explore the city. Metro users note Line 1 is just around the corner about 4-5 minutes walk and is much closer than Zhaojiabang Rd. stop on Line 7/9. They also provide complimentary bottled water in the elevator lobbies, so it is super convenient to grab some when headed to your room.

This is a great hotel situated in an interesting part of Shanghai. My room was large, comfortable and very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and good value. There are many dining options around the hotel. The hotel is within easy walking distance to two major metro lines enabling access to all the sites of Shanghai. A practical, comfortable Shanghai base.

Superb hotel in a rich walking heritage area. Everything was close by. French concession has to be one of the best areas in the city. Everything on your doorstep. Will easily return again!

Nous avons eu le plaisir d’avoir notre chambre de bonne heure à notre arrivée. La communication avec la réception est limitée en raison de la langue mais nous avons était bien accueillie. Je trouve l’hôtel un peu défraîchit dans les partie communes , les salles de bains. Chambre ok La propreté des salle de bain peut être améliorée. Je remercie beaucoup l’hôtel pour avoir rembourser une nuit car nous sommes partis avant la fin du séjour. Dans l’ensemble très bon rapport qualité prix. Nous reviendrons. Le seul point vraiment noir les travaux de rénovation ou grandissement ?!? qui font du bruit dès le matin même pendant la semaine de congé férié d’octobre ! alors que le quartier est super calme !!!

Not friendly people, never would go again

First they gave us a room in another building, on the third flor with no elevator, it was an old facilities dirty, air condition not working, and the carpet was disgusting! Wen we con plain that we booked in a 4 stars, they first sed the hotel was full booked, sorry.... Then I got mad, and once I sed I won't stay and will call Hotels.com to revers the payment, then a miracle, there were an available room in the proper main facility!!! Besides the Gym was closed, the carpet still dirty, and the AC had a terrible smell so we kept it off. I would Never go again!!

A super competitive hotel based on location, 1930s historical buildings and garden, price, and services. About 3 minutes walk to main subway lines and one of the major streets in city center Hengshan road. Surrounded by beautiful alleys to discover local lifestyles. 1-2 minutes walk to Yongpingli where has different flavors of western restaurants. An approximately $10 per person breakfast is a must try. You will get both very authentic Shanghai and general western dishes. The entire property is clean and comfortable. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
