For our anniversary, my husband and I were looking for a one-of-a-kind experience to unwind and enjoy God’s nature creation — all within a three-hour drive from Idaho's Treasure Valley.
With sprawling green pastures, the drive is spectacular in late April. With snow melting off the majestic Bald Mountains, our stay at the Sun Valley Lodge was delightful and relaxing.
Family-owned, the Sun Valley Lodge is the gold standard for warm hospitality, timeless elegance, and service excellence. Upscale modern pairs with traditional cowboy in every impeccable detail of architecture.
The spacious living room, comfortable king bed, and well-designed bathroom made our stay in a king suite special. The piano player at the wood-paneled Duchin Lounge made our celebration dinner fun by playing tunes on request. Amos at the front desk and restaurant staff where we dined (intimate Gretchen’s and Austrian-inspired Konditore) went the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable.
We were thrilled to discover Burns Cowboy Shop in the Village, a two-minute walk from the Lodge. Burns is a family-owned boutique specializing in made in America, custom hand-crafted western boots & hats for women and men. Jake, the store manager, patiently answered our many questions as he thoughtfully designed his and her boots that we would enjoy for many years.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our Sun Valley stay and can’t wait to return.
