I regret to say that my experience with the Villa Rosa Inn was deeply disappointing and distressing.
The first red flag was that no one ever answered or returned my calls when I tried to reach the hotel in advance to request a crib for our room. When we arrived, there was a long line in the lobby, and only one front desk clerk was present. I waited in line for over 30 minutes with my baby, which was already a stressful start.
Once I reached the front of the line, the manager informed me that the room I had reserved would not be ready for at least another hour due to staffing issues and a housekeeper walking off the job. While that was not ideal, I was flexible and open to any accommodation that could reasonably fit my family of three.
The front desk clerk appeared visibly overwhelmed and, in the middle of assisting me, muttered, “I hate people.” She immediately realized she had said it aloud and tried to walk it back with an apology. I tried to laugh it off, but it was a jarring and unprofessional comment that didn’t inspire confidence.
After some time, she provided me with two key cards and directions to a room across the street. I went ahead with my baby to check the room before bringing over my husband and our luggage. To my shock, when I opened the door, the room was already occupied — by a man who was clearly unaware that someone had been issued a key to his room. It was an extremely distressing and unsafe situation, especially as I was holding my baby when it happen
