We stayed at the Rockefeller Hotel Newmark for five nights and left with mixed feelings. The hotel is stylish, modern and well-located, but a few practical issues held the experience back. We had several incidents in our room that needed attention. To their credit, the staff eventually resolved everything, but it took multiple phone calls and repeated follow-ups before things were properly fixed. The willingness to help was there, but the responsiveness wasn’t as polished as it should be.
Another frustration was discovering only on arrival that the rooftop pool would be closed for private events on two of our five days. We had chosen the hotel specifically for that space, planning to use it as part of our downtime. Losing access for almost half the stay changed the experience. Guests should be told in advance—before arriving—when key amenities won’t be available.
Breakfast was also a challenge. The food hall becomes extremely busy in the mornings, with no real flow or organisation, making it feel chaotic rather than relaxing.
The hotel has strong potential, and with better communication and smoother operations, it could be excellent. As it stands, it was a comfortable stay with a few avoidable frustrations.
