Inexcusable. Understand there is no one on site to help you. You will be texted a code and a room number and if you have any real problems, like us, the person will not respond to you. Here is what happened to us. Opened the door and took one step inside. MUSTY SMELL. I immediately stepped out & texted them around 5:20pm. She had answered my question in an earlier text about a fridge and a cot for my 7 yo, so I knew she was there to respond. My text read "Hi [person]. We are here. Thankyou so much. My wife can't do musty or moldy places and may sleep in the car. It's fine for the rest of us. Would you by chance have anything that is not musty. Kindly, [me]". We went next door to eat and wait. No response after 2 hours. No response at all as of 3:30 this AM. My wife slept in the car. Kids and I opened the window and turned on the fan and tolerated it. I am a professional building inspector. I know musty when I smell it. Room on wooden floor and possible crawlspace below. I get it; small northern Michigan business trying to make it. Cut costs. No one on site to help anyone. No ice. No changes. Beware. Furthermore, I read deeply into the hotels.com comments. This is my second experience with this: all the most recent comments are glowing 8s and 10s! All comments older than 2 months are a mix and many 2s. The responses by the hotel are "you should have told us and we would have made it right." I did tell [person]. She did NOT respond.
