The hotel is terrible. The 2 bedroom oceanfront villa was old and needs renovation. The room door had an open gap an inch wide at the top, which exposed the room to the outside elements and critters. When reported to management, his response is nothing will get in. I had to request that management do something for me to feel comfortable staying and he stuffed the top of the door with bubble wrap. I did not stay for the reservation after this and seeing the condition of the room. The deep tissue massage I had was one of the worse ever. Do not recommend the spa. The restaurant and bar staff are the friendliest and the only decent thing about the property. Do not book here. Save yourself the trouble I experienced and book at another property.

The staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The bar had many choices. We didn't do any laundry. The room was clean and spacious with all the requirements we needed. WiFi comes and goes but that didn't concern us.

Loved the quiet nature of the Crown. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very calming and respectful. Checking in early was not a problem. We were welcomed and able to leave our luggage safely while we explored the island before checking into our room. Nothing was a problem.

The sunset of course is great! The drinks are nice. The beach is great to have as well as the pool. Breakfast options was delicious. Staff suoer friendly. Was an overall great stay.

There was no wifi unit was very old and tired. Some staff were not very rude and the breakfast buffet was very inconsistent. The pool was not clean. We would not stay there again or recommend to anyone.

Our stay at Crown Beach Resort was exceptional. The beachfront villa was beautifully appointed, combining comfort and understated elegance. The resort has recently transitioned to new ownership, and it is clear the team are working hard to restore it to its former glory -though in truth, very little was amiss. The staff were warm, gracious, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel welcome at every turn. Dining was another highlight; the evening meals at Crown Beach was easily some of the best we experienced in Rarotonga fresh, flavourful, regional cusine and consistently outstanding. It was far superior to the overpriced and underwhelming meals we had at On the Beach (OTB) for example. Breakfast was a buffet - nothing out of he ordinary, but a great choice. Altogether, Crown Beach Resort offered a truly memorable experience that exceeded expectations. We look forward to returning. I just wish we had sun loungers on our deck - that is being pedantic, but it would have been nice at $550 a night.

This place is good for a quiet stay and the staff are lovely and friendly. The place is lacking in some maintenance which shows. In particular some water features were not working making them mozzie breeding grounds. Fine, but coupd do with some attention to tidy it all up and make it feel clean and well maintained.

Lovely location and great staff

Lovely location on the beach with restaurant and bar. The bar staff are fabulous. A good spot to watch the sunsets. Breakfast was ok, but could be better. Dinners and the Island Night were great. The villas are well equipped, clean and spacious, but there were a few minor maintenance issues (our gate didn’t shut properly and the pool filter wasn't working) Our villa (29) was at the back of the complex near the car park, where the majority of the roosters were. They didn’t wait until dawn to crow and were loud all night, particularly from 3am. We tried ear plugs, but to no avail. I would probably stay again, but would request a villa closer to the beach.

I booked the courtyard villa with private pool, because it was something I wanted. The pool was excellent, and the room immaculate. However, I requested twin beds, hoping that it would be a double bed each, but they were single beds. I requested for double or queen size, but was told that it was all they had and that the settee in the room could be converted into a bed. The villa was great, spacious and clean. However, the lounges were not wiped down and were old. We did not use them. The cleaners did not leave us clean towels and did not really clean the room. We had to ask for new towels, and sometimes that was all that we required. They did make our beds but I note they did not change our sheets during our 6 days of stay. One of the staff was quite rude and I reported this to the reception staff. When you spend so much for a villa such as the one I stayed at, staff should be courteous and mind who they are talking to. It was obvious that this staff was not courteous at all. I simply asked if they were responsible for cleaning the courtyard, which they turned around and said "Do you want to clean it" - that was the first time I had ever encountered rudeness from resort staff, ever After that incident, I was not impressed and to be honest, I would not recommend to any of my friends or family in the near future. While the receptionist Frances was lovely and very hospitable, I feel that the service staff was a big let down. Room service was good though.

It's very clear that the new owners are working on redeveloping the property and are doing a good job of this. We had a private courtyard room with a pool, which was what you would expect on a Pacific island. In general, the staff were lovely and helpful. We had an issue when our Credit card was charged, as when we booked. It was a payment at check-in. As it turned out, the resort had charged us the day before we arrived. We intended to use another card. We phoned the resort 3 weeks before our arrival to check that our understanding was correct.... It was. We spent the working days of our trip trying to obtain a refund. Eventually, this happened, just not the full amount. We had to push for this to happen, after receiving confirmation from the GM that this would be the case, it transpired that it hadn't. We pushed again, and they finally credited our hotel account. I found this to be very disingenuous. As we checked out, we were completely ignored by the GM, but not by his wife.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crown Beach, the staff were exceptional. It is a small resort which I thought added to its value as well. A very easy place to just relax in, with a fantastic happy hour along the beach front. We were in a villa- they were very spacious and well laid out, felt like your own private space in paradise. An extra bonus I’d not come across with accommodation before is we checked out at 10am but could still use the facilities- we came back that afternoon and had a quick shower before our flight that evening and enjoyed happy hour, the sunset and dinner 1 last time. Something I thought was extra great too if you do the mud buggy’s is they have free washer and dryer on site. Several beautiful touches which elevated the accommodation. Highly recommend
