This is an interesting place to stay. Let me first state that we enjoyed our time here and would visit again.
This is a long-stay type of hotel. It seems like a dorm/hostel/event hosting type of place. They told me they just recently started to have short term stay guests.
The room was like a studio apartment, with a kitchen and separate sleeping area. It was great to be able to make our own meals. The bed was comfortable, the shower great (although completely open to the rest of the apartment - you'd better be intimate with any roommate!), and the AC worked well. During our stay, there seemed to be groups staying there that made the environment more like a small convention. Overall, the facility was nice.
The hotel neighborhood was fine during the day, but felt a little less safe at night. You're in the middle of what seems like public housing project and businesses. It's about 4km to the center of town, and the security guard there told us not to walk this but to take a bus. After driving into town we would agree with his assessment. There are huge fences around the entire property, and you have to go through a big gate to get in. We had a rental car and this was perfect - lots of free, secure parking inside the perimeter.
This is a great base of operations for the area if you have a car or can coordinate with busses. It was nice and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a great option in the Avignon area and we'd recommend it!
