6/10 Good

The area was perfect for us. The service in the restaurant could have been better. The staff were extremely friendly but the service was slow and staff often did not know the answers to our questions. The shower was useless ~ no water pressure.

We enjoyed our stay. Lots of weddings going on, as you would expect, so music tends to go on to midnight - best to have a room furthest away from the wedding reception. Good cooked breakfast with some other choices. Nice grounds and friendly staff.
Graham, 2-night trip

Weekend Break and Shopping.

This is the third time at hotel better room this time as I booked superior room it was excellent only thing missing was a fridge but I will go back next year.
Margaret, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Because we didn't book directly with the hotel, we had no say in choice of room, which turned out to be a cosy double with a bathroom you couldn't swing a cat in. However, a quiet word at reception and we were upgraded to a standard double at no extra cost. The staff at the hotel were all very courteous while the service at meal times was excellent.
Bobby, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Was really excited to stay here. Been on the go all day and wanted to relax in the room. Asked receptionist for a menu. Menu in the room. The time I looked for the menu and rang reception I was unable to have food brought to the room from the menu.
Joe, 1-night trip

Disappointed

Perfect location. Really nice building but shower didn’t work and repair silicone marks on the bath. Was really disappointed.
Nathan, 1-night trip

Woken at 6am by banging doors. I slept ok but you sunk into the middle of the bed.
Diane, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

OK

VERY small bedroom with stained carpet, apart from that clean enough. The corner shower cabinet only opened a partly. Communal toilets were in need of an upgrade and very smelly. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lynn, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely hotel with excellent friendly staff.

We booked our 3 night stay for our Wedding Anniversary. 30 years!! It was a lovely relaxing break. The staff are all amazing. Courteous, competent, friendly, professional and always willing to help. The lady who seems to be in charge of the restaurant (can't quite remember her name but she has been working at the hotel for many years) is so good at her job and seems to be so aware and supportive of the needs of both the clients and staff. The staff all go over and above to maintain the welcoming environment in the hotel. Our criticism would be;- The bathroom needs somewhere to hang the towels. The basic room was very small, making it very difficult getting round the bed without banging your knees on the dressing table. The mattress was a little uncomfortable with corded ridges. Very flat, basic pillows could be a little more luxurious!!! We reported, on day 1 that the bathroom radiator wasn't working but this still needs remedial work. If this was fixed you would save on heating costs as it would be sufficient without using the main radiator in the bedroom. Overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel, which was over and above with regard to cleanliness. The double glazing was also very good. We will return (and recommend your hotel to friends) but maybe in a larger room.
jacqueline, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Really friendly staff that can’t do enough to help you. Hotel was clean and tidy as was the room. We had a family room which was spacious and comfortable. My only suggestion would be to freshen up the mattress on the sofa beds as it wasn’t the comfiest sofa bed I’ve ever slept on.
