Well, we didn't make it to the hotel. We had a problem the day of the reservation that made impossible to arrive to the city and we had to stay home. Early in the morning of the day of arriving I spoke with a representative of hotels.com where we made the reservation explaining the situation and asking for a reschedule to 2 weeks later, and even I offered to pay a fee for the inconvenience. They tried their best to reschedule the stay to the other date. They talked to the host at the reception of the hotel explaining the issue and he told them that they had to send an e-mail explaining the situation and then he would talk to the manager to see if they can work it out. Today they answered denying the reschedule citing internal politics and strict restrictions of Home2 suites Hotel. I know a could have paid the fee for cancellation beforehand but it just covered up to 2 days before the date of arrive, so it would not cover a rescehdule/cancellation for the day of the reservation. Basically we lost the money of the stay for unforseen circunstances that can happen to anyone and some corporate greed. Hope this could help other customers when they make plans to stay at that premises.
