I planned on staying here with my two kids and the moment we walked up, I knew we had made a mistake. The hotel looked nothing like the photos on Hotels.com. When we got to our room, it had only two beds—no other furniture at all. The smell was overwhelming, like a chemical spill. It reeked of bleach and what had to be a mix of 10 other disinfectants. It was so strong, we felt like we were walking into an old asylum, not a place meant for rest. There was no way we could sleep in that room and breathe that in.
The walls were paper thin—we could hear every sound from the room next to us, including a guest coughing nonstop, which only made things worse. It was honestly terrifying, and I didn’t feel safe staying there with my kids.
We checked out immediately and went to the Fairfield Marriott, which was a completely different experience—clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I would never stay at a La Quinta again after this. Beware: the photos online are not what you get in person.
