I specifically booked Crown Promenade because it advertised a spa/hot tub. Before arriving, I called to confirm it was operating and was told it was open. At check-in, I asked again and received the same confirmation.
After getting ready, I went to use the spa and found it completely cold. When I asked what had happened, the lifeguard laughed. When I pressed further, she explained that it was “end of day” and that cold water had mixed in with the spa water, and suggested I come back in the morning.
I did come back in the morning—and it was still cold. The hot tub was not hot at all. I turned on the jets and waited. Still cold.
Beyond that, the room itself was disappointing. The bedroom floors were uneven and damaged, there were no USB outlets, the TV looked like it was from the 1990s, and the Honeywell thermostat was so old and unclear that you couldn’t tell whether it was set to heating or cooling.
Overall, this was a frustrating experience and not what I expect from a hotel at this price point. Booking amenities that are confirmed multiple times and then not functional is unacceptable.
