Great place to go and chill, make sure your room has an outdoor soaking tub. However, I felt the staff does not typically deal with English speaking guests, while they are accommodating, culture may have been an issue. One staff member, from India was essentially assigned to my well being, and after I requested a taxi to drive me from the hotel to a further train station, I decided to utilize the local train to connect to the further station, and requested the hotel shuttle. I was told the taxi “was already booked and could not be cancelled”. I’m not sure if there was an additional charge from the hotel for the booking, but my request was 2.5 hours before departure. I had to insist on the hotel shuttle, and the staff member relented. This leads me to believe they either do not deal with many English speaking guests, or simply prefer only Japanese guests. Be forewarned, the expectation of truly good service and the perception of what you actually get may differ. Otherwise, it’s a good hideaway out of Tokyo for a night or two.
