This hotel is extremely convenient to Gatlinburg, and not a bad drive to Pigeon Forge, about 10 minutes in normal, not rush traffic. It has a great atmosphere, with fire pits outside the lobby, a cute little gift store, a nice indoor pool and, although it wasn't open yet, a fun looking outdoor pool. Bed is comfortable. Our vote was the strip and pay off a mini golf course. Lots of trees and of course hills in a scenic area. Not part of the main hubbub of Gatlinburg, as this property is on the extreme Northern end of Gatlinburg. NOTE! They DO NOT advertise on property that they offer FREE PARKING near Anakeesta, you need to ASK at Front Desks. Good way to save $25 and park right smack dab in the center of the town. Now the rain we're going with 4 instead of 5 stars. The bathroom. We had a fireplace suite. The bathroom has a decent vanity area, but the toilet is NOT separated, it's right next to the vanity, so you will not be able to have someone getting ready at the vanity while someone else uses the toilet, without being OVERLY exposed to each other. We've gotten used to hotels with a separate toilet area, and usually a separate shower area. These rooms do not have that, the bathrooms are probably what you have at home. So if you only have one bath at home, this will probably be no big deal. But we personally cannot give it 5 stars because of this one inconvenient feature. It's probably the reason we'll stay somewhere else in our next mountain trip.
