Stayed with the family on 4th floor. Nice sea view room, radiator kept room warm. Bed seemed too soft and towels definitely needs to be cleaned and inspected before laying out for guests.

Air conditioning is amazing beds very comfortable but had to check out on the 2nd night at 11pm due to the noise level from a function on & we were right above it! So really spoiled it, no rooms to change was offered! Not good when you have an autistic child with you and had to drive home which was a 3hour drive!

Avoid at all costs.

We really wanted to like this hotel but it is extremely tired and overpriced. A dried out chicken burger by the pool is almost £20, they even charge you £1 extra to put a slice of cheese in it. Hotel is advertised with an indoor pool, this is in the even more tired property next door and seems like it hasn’t been cleaned since the hotel opened. There is literally a black rim of dirt round the entire edge of the pool. It is just such a depressing place to stay and the prices of the rooms are actually laughable per night. The water pressure in the shower is not strong enough to wash your hair, the room also has no amenities whatsoever, At a push this is a 2 star lodge, certainly not a 4 star hotel. If you really must stay in Bournemouth which itself is equally as depressing, we highly recommend you stay somewhere else. We wouldn’t stay here again if you paid us to stay.

Family stay for a funeral

Myself and a large amount of family booked to stay as the hotel were also providing services for my mothers post funeral reception. From start to finish everyone we dealt with were exceptional. Professional and sensitive to our situation throughout our stay, managing to accomodate everyone's needs as they came. The reception team, bar and restaurant staff and the guys sorting out the function room were great. Our actual room and those of my family were all very clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant at short notce with no issues and ate in the bar area at various points, with all the food being very good. We have stayed a few times over recent years and always get great service. The location is great and handy for town as well.

Lovely Art Deco Hotel

The Cumberland is still one of the "better" hotels in Bournemouth, however the East Cliff area is somewhat run down with a few very run down or disused hotels. I had a single room which was compact but comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the towels were some of the best I've had in a hotel of late. Guest areas are kept clean & tidy and the swimming pool area looked good, I didn't use the pool.

Relaxing stay

We had a 4 day stay with the Cumberland Hotel, we were welcomed by a friendly reception staff. The lounge area is comfortable and a good place to relax to have a drink, read or have a bar meal. Our room was comfortable. I did think £12 per night parking was a little expensive as we hadnt booked direct.

I was told that cats and dogs were accepted. On arrival I paid for it then I was told it was not allowed in the hotel. Two hours were wasted of my vacation trying to organise him to be collected therefore I missed going in the pool and sauna and sitting by the outside pool. The food was good but there were dog fleas in the bed. I got attacked whilst asleep in my bed therefore missing my breakfast!.

Fab weekend in Bournemouth to end the summer

Had a really nice weekend break at the Cumberland Hotel, booked a sea view room with a balcony which was wonderful as we had sunny weather and clear skies. Service was very good and overall cleanliness was good too. The indoor pool in the hotel next door was great, the gym was a little basic and not easy to find but as it was included in the price not an issue as the was enough equipment to have a good work out if you are adaptable
