Not a family friendly place
We have stayed with hotel Birke last year, which was good. This time however, the experience was very bad. We received a room, where there must have been some admin or the like above. There was a constant movement and the noise was very loud, which made it hard for us to fall asleep. Once asleep, we had the weirdest experience, as a man (likely an employee) barged in our room in the middle of the night. This woke my wife and made her very scared. He ran away and we barricaded the room for the rest of the night. When we talked with the staff about this the following morning, they of course apologised and said it could have been a staff person who entered wrongly. Also the staff in the pool, a gentleman was not really that friendly when he corrected our child, which was being very considerate in the pool. In general the hotel gives a vibe that it has some good/upper class, but in reality the experience was very bad. This is a shame as we had gotten a good expression last year, but this time it was just bad.

Weekend i Kiel i december 2024
Vi var i Kiel i første weekend i Kiel som par. Vi var sidst på Hotel Birke for tre år siden. Dengang var vi eneste om, at det ikke var sidste gang. Det var derfor i år tid til en gentagelse. Der er tale om et meget høfligt personale. Der er en hyggelig stemning på hotellet, med pejsestue og adgang til svømmehal, sauna og wellness. Morgenmaden er uden sidestykke og meget af det bedre, jeg har oplevet! Hvis man ikke vil have sin bil med ind til Kiel Centrum - der er cirka 4-5 kilometer, kan man med fordel tage bus 31 og, som jeg husker det, 91. Det koster omkring en 20’er pr. person og tager godt 10-15 til banegården. Kiel i december er præget af julemarkeder - der er 4-5-stykker i byen. På hotellet blev vi orienteret om nogle af de mere ‘insidertips’, der var at se; se de lokale børns peberkagehuse, der udstilles i Kieler Zeitungs bygning. Eneste minus denne gang var temperaturen på vandet i poolen! Det var simpelthen for koldt!

Wir haben ein tolles, sehr entspannendes, verlängertes Wochenende in dem Hotel Birke verbracht. Der Spa/Pool/Sauna-Bereich laden zum Verweilen ein. Die angebotenen Massagen waren sehr professionell, wirklich Wellness pur. In der Umgebung kann man sehr gut spazieren gehen und den Wald genießen. Frühstück und Abendessen, sowohl die Speisen, der hervorragende Service als auch das Ambiente haben maximale Sterne verdient. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Virkelig godt hotel til afslapning
Glimrende hotel med en god pool og spa. Morgenmaden havde et stort og lækkert udvalg, omend der var virkeligt mange mennesker ved buffeten. Frisklavet omeletter, pandekager, vafler og æg på bestilling leveret til bordet. Aftensmaden i restaurant var formidabel, den ene aften vi havde til at prøve den.
