We have selected this ibis for a a job we have doing locally and the staff very helpful . Rooms are acceptable, clean well presented. We stayed at another cheaper hotel one week but we came back here....

We were a little unsure when we arrived as we had to access through large electric gates. The reception is across a courtyard from the rooms which looked like chalet rooms. However, once inside our rooms there was comfy beds, tea making facilities and a hot shower in the bathroom. The room was clean. We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the variety served for breakfast. I did almost get charged twice for my room. When I picked this up I was refunded.

The staff were lovely and the room was very clean except for the carpets which were heavily stained. The blinds did not work, some stuck shut others couldn’t be closed. We had booked the family room, I would have been very upset about the blinds if I was there with young children. There was also a partially closed padlocked door off the bedroom which was a bit creepy. I would have felt better if this door was properly closed and locked on both sides. Beds were very basic with thin mattresses Bathrooms were nice and modern. The building itself is very dated with dark concrete exposed stairs. The site is very secure with lots of parking. We did not eat at the property but there was 24hour food service.

DO NOT BOOK AS A LONE FEMALE. This place is weird and very dated, it felt sketchy from the moment I arrived. I was given a room facing the woodland and I felt unsafe. Anyone could be outside the room door and it appeared to only be single glazed windows. I chose not to stay.

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst hotel experience we’ve had this year. The entire property felt tired, worn and in need of a serious refurbishment. Cleanliness was also a major concern, with various areas looking dirty and poorly maintained. The carpets in our room were stained, heavily worn and certainly not what you would expect from a hotel charging guests to stay there. The shower was another disappointment, with very poor water pressure. It really says something about the standard of the bathroom when the shower gel, hand wash and shampoo are all provided in the same bottle — which is simply left on the floor of the shower. The service didn’t improve the experience either. When speaking to the staff at reception, they remained seated rather than standing to engage with guests, which came across as rather uninterested and unprofessional. Overall, the hotel needs significant investment in both its facilities and its approach to customer service. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

Food was very good, reception very helpful, room very quirky. I had to book a family room as last one left - was the only room on the top floor built into the eaves. Two double bedrooms, very spacious and nice and quiet. Be aware that the rooms are in an apartment style building (bit like Butlins) across the car park. There is no lift - I was on the 2nd floor and struggled a bit with my suitcase as I have a bad hip (age!). I would also recommend to the hotel that they put some grab bars in the shower - one for as you go up the step into the shower and one in the shower as I found it slippery - again an age problem!

Overnight stay

Found the hotel to be very satisfactory for an overnight stay when visiting relatives in the area. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. As we arrived in darkness we found it difficult to locate the hotel so more signing on the approach roads would be beneficial.

Acceptable for low budget stay

Property is in need of painting and maintenance. Carpet in the room and wall paint need update. Generally the hotel is acceptable for a low budget stay. One positive aspect is its located around main roads and supermarkets
