I had a disappointing experience with customer service during my stay. When I checked in, the carbon monoxide detector started beeping due to a low battery. I called the front desk about four times, but each time my call was transferred to a regional or national office, where they asked me to contact the local number, something I was already doing! They insisted the front desk would handle the issue, but I got no help.
I also asked for a rollaway bed, and the response I received was a firm "no" in a rather stern and confrontational tone. I'm not one to complain over small things, but it was frustrating. As for the carbon monoxide detector, the only solution they offered was to remove it from the wall because they didn’t have any battery replacements.
What was most frustrating, though, was the extremely slow Wi-Fi. I couldn't access most of the web tools I needed, and since my main goal was to work online while attending my daughter's activities at the nearby convention center, this was a big issue. The Wi-Fi was slow throughout the day, night, and morning, to the point that I had to leave the hotel and use the Wi-Fi in the conference center lobby instead.
Overall, it was far from an ideal experience, and I’m disappointed with how things were handled.
