I had made reservations for this La Quinta based on reviews. Unfortunately, either folks were overly free in their ratings, or I am choosier than most. Cleanliness was average at best. Location was not great, being directly next to a major noisy highway, and surrounding area, like much of Memphia, was covered with litter. Breakfast was fine, not good or great. The room had been remodeled at some point and sink and mirror were the opposite end of the room from the bathroom. Very odd. Two TVs, but the one furthest from the bed had one smallish upholstered chair and a rolling desk chair someone could sit in. Neither were comfortable. Strange layout. One elevator for 4 stories, and it may have been the SLOWEST ELEVATOR in any hotel we have stayed in, especially since it is also used by cleaning personnel. Staff was pleasant. Thankfully, parking is gated, as this area in Memphis can be sketchy.
