The room was excellent and very comfortable, with stunning views of the valley below. What stood out the most was the generous and warm and professional staff from beginning to end. They were welcoming and made the chateau a very welcome destination after a long drive.

Loved it!

What an amazing chateau! So beautiful. We had a turret room which was grand. Did the wine tasting; had amazing dinners cooked by the incredible chef. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want from cheese, salmon, meats, muesli, fresh yogurt, Eggs, Fabulous breads and jams, whole box of honeycomb. Cannot recommend enough. Only disappointment was it was too cold to swim in the beautiful huge pool.

It has always been a dream of mine to stay in a real medieval chateau. We had an exceptional experience! Not only is the chateau absolutely beautiful, the staff and food was superb! They are all so friendly and accommodating. They go over and beyond and I would recommend a visit to everyone! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Det er et charmerende château, som gemmer på en masse historie. Desværre var der en del bananfluer på vores værelse, som føltes urent. Indretningen og kunsten passer ikke rigtig til fællesarealerne og det hele kunne godt trænge til at blive opdateret.

Our stay at Château de Mercuès was fantastic. We stayed for one night and swam, dined, drank and slept wonderfully. The staff were helpful, friendly, knowledgable and discreet. I cannot speak highly enough of all of them. The pool area was build in the 60s and although maybe showing its age slightly, was charming, providing sunbeds and parasols The evening service at La Dueze (on-site michelin starred restaurant) was impeccable. The food and wine were some of the best I have ever had. The room was tidy, clean and comfortable and well equipped with tea-making, wi-fi and small minibar. The wine tour is a must. The cellars were immaculate and a testament to the care and dilligence of the staff thoughout. The hotel is one of a kind. A genuine castle on top of a hill with some of the most breathtaking views I have ever experienced.

Chambre 3 Ameublement inapproprié, les chaises sont inconfortable. Une fois assis, la table est beaucoup trop haute. Pas possible de prendre le petit déjeuner sur cette table ou même lire le journal. La douche est Nala conçue. Même pas de petite tablette pour y déposer le savon, il faut laisser les article au sol dans la douche. Un château offre davantage! Egalment , le wifi est seulement disponible dans la chambre.

Relais and Chateaux-no- no NON! Where to even begin? Our experience at Château Mer was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we've had in recent memory — especially considering the Relais & Châteaux label and the premium pricing. We arrived on the afternoon of Monday, September 15th, and the lack of welcome was immediately noticeable. It took quite some time before anyone appeared at the front desk. Though the staff were pleasant enough, the entire welcome experience lacked polish, warmth, and organization. It felt chaotic, under-trained, and oddly indifferent — think Fawlty Towers, but without the charm. We were offered an iced tea in what I assume was meant to be a tranquil garden. Unfortunately, the space was poorly maintained: wilted plants, uneven pathways, and furniture that had seen better days. The setting felt unloved. And yet, despite all this, the building itself is stunning — a beautiful old grande dame perched in an enviable location. That makes what follows all the more frustrating. Room Disaster (a.k.a. “The Upgrade”) After a long wait with no communication, we were told we’d been “upgraded.” Normally, that would be welcome news — but this so-called upgrade turned out to be a turret room spread over two floors. The first floor had a small room - basically an entryway - with a desk and a bench, a room with a sit-in tub/sink and another with a toilet. Up a stone spiral staircase was the sleeping room which had a round bed and a bizarre layout that made

Castillo, con encanto, caro por lo que se recibe..

Hotel tranquilo, pero cruzar el restaurante para ir a su habitación no es el máximo, por no hablar de la cama, solicité una cama de matrimonio y nos juntaron dos camas individuales. Cenamos en el hotel y solo se podía disfrutar de un menú degustación excelente pero sin alternativa posible sin previo aviso al reservar la mesa: en definitiva tarifa de relais châteaux que no son acordes a lo que recibimos

Nos dieron dos habitaciones sin aire acondicionado, una de ellas llena de bichos, palomitas y otros, la otra no funcionaba la ducha y nos la cambiaron, nos dieron otra más grande con dos habitaciones y una tenía aire y se estaba mejor aun q mas antigua q la primera sin aire. Creemos q un hotel de esa categoría y el precio q vale debería tener todo esto encuenta, falta un mantenimiento general, bonito castillo y vistas pero solo para ver no para dormir en el. Nuestra experiencia negativa, lo siento por ustedes y por nosotros más

Hotel disappointing - Restaurant exceptional

The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The decor was very old and tired and the air conditioning did not work - no matter what the wall machine said. The worst part was that there was no shower in the bathroom. Only a bath with a hand held (no not attached on high). The restaurant, on the other hand was exceptional

A truly amazing place! The view is spectacular, and the service and the food are extraordinary. It‘s very well maintained (which is very hard work for such a place - an old castle). It‘s worth a stay!
