We loved this hotel when we arrived and thought we had found a place we'd come back to many times. But, an unfortunate dinner at the hotel + passing of the buck by hotel management left us so frustrated that we won't be back.
Our dinner at the hotel restaurant took well over an hour to arrive (just a salmon dish and a fish sandwich), and all the bartender could do was tell us it was busy. My partner was pissed (we'd been on the road for days and just wanted a nice meal) and the bartender got defensive and said there was nothing she could do. We tried to get help from the front desk staff with the situation (we couldn't find the restaurant manager), and the staff both couldn't help us and didn't even have contact information for his manager. After ending up crying at the bar after a blood sugar drop, eating our food as fast as we could once it finally arrived, then recovering in our room, we finally tracked down the restaurant manager an hour later, who did give us half the bill back and actually did apologize.
We tried to get the rest of the bill covered by the hotel the next morning since it totally changed our view of the hotel, and they said it was the restaurant's problem, and that they couldn't give us $$ back because we booked through Hotels.com. Just felt like passing the buck again. And of course she said the hotel restaurant manager would call us, and they didn't.
For such a high end place you would think the service would be excellent, but it is not.
