Great stay at Varis House! Friendly staff, clean room with comfortable bed and a good breakfast to get going in the morning.

As a solo traveller this B&B suited my needs. It was close to Lerwick centre and all amenities. The en-suite room had tea/coffee facilities and internet TV and served the purpose well for me. The continental breakfast was self-serve and expansive with no strict timings. Basically, you could come & go as you pleased which was ideal for me as I had no specific agenda, just a quiet 3 night break.

The location was excellent, for walking, and if walking is too much, the taxi service is excellent. The breakfast here is lovely, definitely would stay here again!

Would have preferred a cooked breakfast, however the continental breakfast had a huge choice of items.

Great choice for continental breakfast that you sorted yourself. Got a good quiet night's sleep. Staff helpful. Parking is free.

The staff was very friendly, and willing to help find attractions, recommend restraunts, and offer local recommendations. A few in our party had limited mobility so the staff assisted carrying their bags. The staff really went above and beyond. The room and facility were very clean and home. It was the exact thing we were looking for and hope to return in the future.

2/10 Mediocre

Unfortunately the owner said they were away so unable to offer breakfast having said that there didn't appear to be a dinning room... The room although clean had an awful stale smell about it and you couldn't open the windows

Nice, convenient stay an location. Owners helpful and attentive. Harbour literally just down the street convenient to stores and eateries. Good breakfast with large selection for Continental. Free parking across the street.

6/10 Bueno

This property is a basic accommodation. The location is good, a very short walk to Victoria Pier and the "Jimmy Perez house" from the TV series Shetland. Both the exterior and interior of the property could use some renovation. It was clean, but with an overpowering smell of cleaning products in the hallways. Be prepared to haul luggage up the stairs. The room had plenty of outlets to plug in devices and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was very small. The self-service continental breakfast was plentiful with a nice selection, and even home baked goods to choose from.

Property in need of updating. Grey (were once white) towels, pokey room. Unable to adjust shower temperature. Extremely uncomfortable bed. Bed up against the wall. Very disappointed.

I was on the top floor, which meant a lot of stairs, but the reward was a great sea view. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Nigel, the owner, was lovely and the "serve youself anytime" continental style breakfast (with home-made cakes!) was a great idea. I'd be happy to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at the Varis House. The location was very good, close enough to everything. The room was cozy and warm. Enjoyed our stay and Nigel was was so great helping us with all the information we needed. Perfect place for staying in Lerwick.
