PLAZA Schwerin, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

This hotel is hard to locate and really needs a car or taxi to get to a public transport is poor. Walking, notably from the station is terrible and the rear entrance is not signposted in any way. Anyway the hotel is spacious, rooms well appointed and the reception staff helpful. However we stayed one night and it was enough due to its difficult location.

Grande conference hotel, but still not too big. Clean spacious rooms - polite, service minded staff - delicious breakfast. Nice bar/ lounge for evening drink. Perfect situated in walking distance to the heart of the town -with all tourist attractions, the formidable castle and shopping street, restaurants etc. Parking garage for hotel guests under the hotel makes it easy to choose while arriving by car.

Great hospitality. Comfortable room. From the staff at the front desk to the lady who was in charge of the breakfast were so wonderful. One morning, the breakfast room was all of a sudden very crowded because of a huge group of tourists eating at the same time. The person in charge came to my table after they were gone to check everything was ok with me. This property is a bit off the center of the city, but I found a very beautiful cemetery just across the street that leads to a path around small lakes. These were some of my highlights of visiting Schwerin!

We were in the hotel only for one night. Our room was very large (even with a small kitchen), the beds large and comfortable and a very clean toilette. The hotel is at a walking distance from the city center, so we never used the local transportation

Maybe we stayed during off season, but very few people were staying in the hotel. The restaurant looked like a ghost town. We like to stay at places that have activity!

We stayed in a suite with a lake view and a balcony. The view was nice, but nothing special. The room was big and nicely decorated, but there was a persistent bad smell in the room, possibly the air conditioning needed maintenance. The public areas were nicely decorated as well. Our room price was very good, but it did not include breakfast or parking. Breakfast was a bit expensive, but selection was fine and we did not bother to go looking for something cheaper. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening. The price level for food was acceptable and we liked the taste. Service was good. There seemed to be lots of Spanish trainees working in the hotel, and they spoke good German. They seemed to also know English well. There was a supermarket approx. 10 min walk away, and it took maybe 20 min walk to the Schwerin castle. The castle was nice, but we liked Ludwigslust palace (approx. 30 min by car) even better.
