Owner was friendly. Place was old and needed maintenance. The bathroom (sink and shower) was dirty and not working properly.

Value in London

Okay this is not five star accommodation, but 8min from Gatwick and £40 a night it does the job. I had a single room for one night to pick up family from the Airport, my other option was to start my journey at 3am. Nice little room, with a wash hand basin, tea coffee making facilities, microwave and TV. The shower room/ WC was the next room and ample for a one night stay.

Floor hadn’t been hoovered, cobwebs everywhere, was colder in the room than outside. We did not feel safe. We booked a travel lodge and left as soon as we could. Place needs shutting down.

We arrived to our keys on the porch behind a small box, in our room was a very dirty carpet, dirty coffee cups, dirty water glasses, garbage on table from used sugar packs, unbelievably dirty shower, black dirt surrounded drain and in walls, spider ens and dirt on walls and by bed etc. cigarette burns on duvet, and dirty as well. The apalling mess that was Lenton Lodge

The only decent thing about my stay was the owners leaving a key, as l was very late arriving! The whole house smelled unpleasant. There was no running water to the sink in my room. The shared bathroom was a mess. The whole place was run down, and in need of a good clean and update. Granted, it was cheap ... but l won't ever be going back.

The low price of a room (40 pounds = 47 euros, not a few for those coming from abroad), compared to other hotels, does not mean renting it on pitiful terms. To say that I am disgusted by what I have seen is an understatement. Horrendous is a compliment. Dead insects, live spiders of all sizes in both bathroom and bedroom, strange stains in the sink, in the wall, on pillows and sheets. Cracked wall, cobwebs, dirty floors, and shower.
