My family member booked this room for my husband and me. They checked us in and looked over the room before we got into town for a visit. They said everything seemed fine. My husband and I arrived very late to the hotel(about midnight). We noticed while walking past, that the back door was propped open with a rock. This concerned me as that is very unsafe, anyone could walk in without the staff's knowledge. The place seemed like it was under construction, but no work was being done while we were there. Still, we lugged our suitcases up the stairs, since the elevator was broken(a common issue here according to the reviews that I have since read). We used the key card given by the hotel staff to open the door to our room only to find other guests were already in the room. They understandably sounded angry and told us that we were in the wrong room. I went downstairs to the front desk and told the employee there. He was visibly concerned. He offered another room to us, but after everything we had experienced there, we didn't feel safe staying. Hopefully they will learn to prioritize safety and fix the elevator for anyone else who would want to book a room there. I'm not ever planning to return to this location.
