I arrived in the late evening for a one-night stay and was given a room where the lock malfunctioned, and I needed to go out on an errand. But the staff responded promptly and after some difficulty trying to fix the lock, I was given a different room, so I was satisfied with the outcome. There were a couple of untidy spots in the room, but nothing serious. The room was comfortable, and I was pleased with the shower setup, which some budget hotels in Thailand struggle with. Overall, the place was clean and well located — a 5-minute walk to the big Chiang Rai Central mall — and very affordable. There is a pool, and poolside rooms are available, I assume at a slightly higher rate; if you don’t have one of those rooms you’d need to order pool chairs at the front desk. All told, I would recommend it and rate it about 7.5 on a 10-point scale.
